Welcome to the first News Report for Beat the Bastard 2010.

As you have noticed we have a website this year, if you haven't noticed then you must be reading this telepathically. The website has generously been donated by iSmart. Check out their site by clicking their logo at the bottom of this page and see if there is anything they can do for you.

On the subject of sponsors, we have a few coming on board already. Key Motors the local Mazda and Subaru dealer has offerred to loan us a couple of utes for transport of riders and a people mover to move spectators up the course to various viewing positions. UHF Comms has offerred us 2 way radios and backup so we will have much clearer communications than we did last year. Again these sponsor's sites can be found at the bottom of this page.

Anyone who has paid their fee will be listed on the riders list on this site. If you have paid and your name doesn't appear on the list please contact us and let us know. If you have paid and haven't yet returned your Registration Form please do asap as we need the details from the form for logistics purposes.

I am quite surprised to see how many places are still available. I understand that quite a few riders are waiting to register, but if we suddenly have a flurry of registrations you may well miss out if you don't hurry. There are 15 spots left as of right now and I know of more riders than that who have told me they plan to come but haven't yet registered. Please don't bitch if you want to come but leave it too late. We have limited the numbers to 60 to ensure that everyone gets more rides than they can handle. The number of runs that riders get is the highlight of this event and we intend to keep it that way each year. Those who have ridden this hill before will testify to how great it is, but even Martin Seigrist was impressed, see his comments on his blog http://www.mrtn.ch/09_oz.html close to the bottom of the page.

Ok, that is enough from me for this issue. Keep coming back to see what we are up to and how things are going.

One thing before I go, we have a few younger riders registered to ride. Any parent that are coming up with their kids and are willing to help out as drivers, marshalls, whatever, please contact us and let us know so we can include you in our planning.

Cheers all
